Caring and storing instructions
The connection cable should primarily be cleaned dry. Use a soft, lint-free cloth to remove dust and dirt. In cases of heavier soiling, the cable can be carefully wiped with a slightly damp cloth and a mild cleaning agent. Aggressive cleaners or solvents must not be used, as they could damage the cable insulation and the connectors. Pay particular attention to ensuring that the plug does not come into contact with moisture during cleaning, in order to prevent corrosion. The cable should not be bent or crushed while being cleaned.
Regular visual inspections are part of the cable's maintance. Check the cable at regular intervals for external damage such as cracks in the insulation or signs of wear. The contacts should also be inspected for signs of corrosion. If necessary, the contacts can be carefully cleaned using a special contact cleaner designed for electronic components. The cable must not be overstretched or used under tension. When plugging in or unplugging the cable, always guide the plug straight and without force to avoid damaging the sockets or the plug itself.
The connection cable should be stored in a clean, dry and dust-free environment. Storage in a cable pouch or box is recommended. It is important to loosely coil the cable - preferably with a large radius - and not store it under tension or pressure. Direct sunlight should be avoided, as UV light can accelerate material aging. Extreme temperatures should also be avoided during storage to prevent damage to the cable insulation.
Defective or no longer usable connection cables are considered electronic waste and must not be disposed of with household waste. Instead, they should be taken to municipal collection points for electronic waste or recycling centers. Pay attention to any symbols on the cable, such as the crossed-out wheeled bin, which indicates seperate disposal requirements. This ensures that valuable raw materials are recovered and harmful substances are properly treated.
