The FMA 21 is a fully FIE approved signalling unit for all 3 weapons incorporating all the latest FIE requirements. It is equipped with an integrated embedded industry PC and an easy to operate touch screen. The advanced design ensures a clear easy to read display of all relevant information. The unit also incorporates connections to peripheral units such as displays, result management, video refereeing system etc.
The FMA 21 is operated by touch screen or remote control. The new RC system has much better range that previous models. Software up-dates for required FIE rule changes or the addition of new functions etc., are all done via the integrated USB-interface eliminating the need for chip changes.
Together with our range of accessories, such as stand and repetition lights, both of which by be easily attached to the main unit, makes the FMA 21 the most capable and sophisticated signalling unit available.
The FMA 21 has successfully been used in Olympic, Paralympic and Continental Games, World and Continental Championships as well as World Cups and many more prestigious competitions.
Performance characteristics:
FMA 21 possesses some innovative performance characteristics. Most of them are available in no other signalling unit.
General Performance characteristics:
- intuitively, multi-lingual user guidance and help functions via touch screen
- profile management with free adjustment for many parameters and design options (design features can be defined by the profile management as well as certain communication protocols be put on serial connections)
- name, photo and national flags are shown on the display (in combination with result-management-network)
- number of remaining video proofs
- display P-cards and passivity timer
- reset of the remaining time on the second (e.g. after operating error)
- possibility to save the last four scores with time and to recall them on the touch screen (required after operating error or false re-set)
- medical and technical assistance can be requested from TD via the touch screen (with LAN-connection in combination with result-management-network)
- remote configuration and - control of all units in one fencing hall by TD (with LAN-connection in combination with result-management-network)
- three special modi to connect wireless fencing system "Wireless 2000"
- up-dates and up-grades by software without changing the chip (by USB-connector)
- intelligent repetition lights: When fencing on one piste and with one signalling unit the repetition lights show the signals of the unit on the front and back side. When fencing on two pistes with 2 units the repetition lights show the signals of one unit on the front side and the signals of the seconds unit on the back side.
- wear-free LED lights (no bulbs) therefore no bulb change required
- right-to-left reverse is possible without changing the lamps (this is required when using a second slave-unit on the back side)
- power supply with 12 V. external medical power supply for 110 - 240 V.
- up to 3 power sources (battery,UPS, ...) can be used at the same time
- connection of UPS by RS232 and RS422 is able to show power failure
Touch-screen display:
All relevant information is shown on the 22" (55,8 cm) TFT-Touch screen, wich can also be operated with gloves. The functions on the screen can be adapted to suit your particular requirements.
The following information is displayed on the screen:
- valid and non-valid hits
- name, photo and national flag of the fencer (in connection with result management system e.g., Ophardt).
- score
- time
- match number
- piste number for use with results management system e.g., Ophardt
- yellow, up to 15 red cards and black cards
- P-cards and passivity time
- number of remaining video-proofs for use with video refereeing e.g., Swiss Timing
- yellow blocker lamp for foil as well as red earth lamp for epee
- multi-lingual menu

Warnings
This fencing scoring device is exclusively designed for fencing according to the rules of the International Fencing Federation (FIE). Other uses are excluded.
Warning: Danger to children! This device is not a toy. Keep it out of the reach of children.
This fencing scoring device is designed for indoor use only and must not be used outdoors or in humid environments.
The power supply may heat up when connected to the device and a power outlet. Avoid touching the power supply for extended periods and prevent contact with heat-sensitive objects. Do not cover the power supply or place it near flammable materials.
Avoid contact between the device and water or other liquids to prevent electric shock and/or device damage.
Risk of fire! The device must not be covered or come into contact with flammable materials.
Avoid shocks to the device and display, such as impacts, dropping, vibrations, and twisting, and avoid scratches or other damage to the units.
Use only the original packaging or other high-quality and compatible transport packaging (e.g., item no. 13100x or item series 13126Kx) for transport.
Regularly check your device and its components for damage, signs of wear, or indications of a safety risk. Do not use the product if you have any doubts about the condition of a component.
If you have any safety concerns about your product, stop using it and disconnect it from the power source and other connections (network, floor cable, mat cable, etc.).
Do not attempt to service or repair the product yourself. Use only a service provider familiar with repairs for your specific fencing scoring device. In all cases, disconnect the device from the power grid before opening.
The power cable and adapter supplied with this product may only be used with this product. Do not use them with other products. Use your fencing scoring device only with the supplied power adapter.
Use only manufacturer-recommended power cables and adapters. The power cable must be a certified line. In Germany, power cables should meet at least the H03VV-F, 3G, 0.75 mm² safety standard. In other countries, use equivalent types of power cables.
Never wrap the power cable around the adapter or any other object. Doing so can strain and damage the cable.
Regularly inspect the exterior of the device for dust buildup. Remove any dust from ventilation slots and openings in the panels.
Some parts of your device may be made of glass or plastic. These parts could break if the product falls onto a hard surface or experiences a strong impact. Do not touch broken parts or continue using the device.
Turn on the device only after all cables (floor cable, mat cable, and network cable, if applicable) are properly connected.
The fencing scoring device FMA21 may only be used with a compatible stand (item no. 131002 / item series 131252x) or a compatible tripod.
Caring and storing instructions
Note: Cleaning! The device can be cleaned with a dry cloth. Do not use aggressive cleaning agents or abrasives.
Note: Disposal! The device must not be disposed of in household waste. Dispose of it in accordance with local regulations.
