Range of application
This chest protector is designed for use in the sport of fencing (epee, foil, sabre) according to the rules of the international fencing federation (F.I.E.). To choose the correct level of performance for protective equipment for fencer, please prefer to the rules of you national fencing federation. We strictly recommend to only use protective fencing equipment of the highest level of performance (EN 13567;2002; A1;2007 level 2).
To find the correct size of your fencing chest protector, please prefer to the chart. Measure chest size under the arms and select correct product size. The size of the chest protector must be chosen in the way, that the chest protector is situated on the body covering the zone of protection and that it remains in place. The chest protector can be adjusted to fit the body by adjusting the shoulder and back straps.
The zone of protection can be seen from the appropriate figure on the cover page. The following parts of the chest protector are not part of the protective zones:

We recommend a light singlet or T-shirt be worn under the chest protector. Make sure, that the elastic at the back of the chest protector is fastened and that the elastic shoulder straps are adjusted to fit so the chest protector is held closely to the chest. If the back strap does not pull the chest protector firmly to the chest, then try the next smaller size or wear a thicker T-shirt underneath. If the elastic deteriorates or is damaged and the chest protector cannot be properly fastened, the chest protector may not be used any longer.
Warnings
Fencing by virtue of being a combat sport in which body contact by the weapon occurs, is by its nature dangerous. Protective clothing and equipment for fencers is intended as far as possible to prevent injuries or in the worst cases to reduce the severity of injuries, particularly by the point of the weapon.
Broken blades pose a particular threat. The circumstances of the breakage of blades may result in high tip velocities and consequent high energy impacts by the broken blade. Broken blades have been known to penetrate protective equipment with fatal consequences. No protective equipment can offer full protection against injury.
Protective equipment must not be changed or manipulated. In particular stitching must not be opened or further parts be added or taken away.
Caring instructions must be respected. Non-respect of these instructions can reduce the level of protection of this garment.
Carefully inspect protective equipment for fencing at regular intervals to make sure, that no mechanical defects (like abrasion, holes, broken stitching, cracks) have occurred. If this has happened, the product may no longer be used.
Caring and storing instructions
The chest protector is washable with a wet cloth. Elastic straps can be washed by hand at 30°C in a mild detergent.
Dry naturally.
To be stored in a cool and dry place without direct light exposure.
This product contains no substances which are known or are suspected of causing any adcerse health effect.
By its intended usage there is no adcerse influence on the hygiene of the user.
