Warnings
The replacement of the fencing mask bib, including the conductive metallic fabric and inner padding, may only be carried out by our trained professional staff at our facility.
Any independent disassembly or attempt to replace the bib, the metallic fabric, or the padding on your own is not permitted and will result in the loss of product safety, as well as any possible warranty or guarantee claims.
A damaged, worn or detached mask bib - expecially if the conductive metallic fabric is affected - represents a significant safety and functional risk. It may impair the productive function in the neck and throat area and in foil fencing, lead to incorrect hit detection.
The fencing mask must not be used if there are visible damages or significant signs of wear to the bib, the mtallic fabric or the padding - neither during training nor in competition.
Please regularly inspect the bib for tears, fraying, material fatigue, damaged or detached metallic threads, faulty seams, or loose connections. The inner padding should also be checked regularly for a firm fit and shape retention.
If any damage or heavy wear is detected, the mask must be immediately removed from use and sent to us for professional refurbishment.
The mask may only be used again after the bib (including conductive fabric and padding) has been replaced by us and the mask has undergone a technical inspection.
Only professional replacement performed at our facility ensures the full protective function, electrical conductivity, wearing comfort and functionality of the foil mask.
Any unauthorized modifications or repair attemps - especially on the conductive fabric - will result in the loss of safety certification and may lead to injury or technical errors during competition.
Caring and storing instructions
The mask bib should be thoroughly aired out and dried in a dry place after each use to minimize sweat and odor build-up.
Cleaning must be limited to surface treatment only. Use a soft, slightly damp cloth and a mild, pH-neutral cleaning agent.
Be especially careful to prevent the conductive metallic fabric from coming into contact with aggressive cleaning agents, alcohol, solvents or abrasive substances - these may permanently damage the electrical conductivity and structural integrity.
The inner padding must not be removed, washed or soaked. Gentle dry cleaning using a damp microfiber cloth is acceptable.
Do not machine wash, soak or tumble dry the bib - this will destroy the structure of the fabric and the metallic mesh.
Check regularly wheter the conductive fabric remains intact, clean and conductive (e.g., no signs of heavy oxidation or brittleness).
Store the mask in a dry, well-ventilated place, ideally in a breathable, form-stable protective bag.
Avoid direct sunlight, high temperatures, extreme cold or high humidity - these conditions can damage or prematurely age the fabric, the metallic mesh and the inner padding.
Make sure that the matallic bib is not bent of permanently deformed during storage, as this could damage the conductive mesh.
A heavily damaged, unhygienic or technically defective mask bib must no longer be used.
The bib is composed of textile fibers, foam padding, plastic components and conductive metallic mesh.
For disposal, the compnents should be separated where possible and disposed of accoding to local waste regulations: Textiles/ padding: As general waste or textile waste, Metallic mesh: As scrap metal.
If you are unsure about proper disposal, please contact your local waste management service.
