EtherCon connectors must only be pulled by the connector housing, never by the cable itself. Pulling on the cable can loosen the connection or damage the contacts.
The network cable must not be exposed to moisture, water or sweat. Wet environments can lead to short circuits or corrosion at the connectors.
When not in use, the cable must be stored clean, dry and neatly wound on the drum to avoid damage from kinks, pressure points, or environmental influences.

Caring and storing instructions
The network cable should be regularly checked for dust, dirt and mechanical residues and cleaned as needed to ensure continued functionality.
Only a dry or slightly damp, lint-free cloth should be used for cleaning. Harsh cleaning agents, solvents or abrasive materials must be strictly avoided.
EtherCon connectors and contacts must never come into contact with water or conductive liquids, as this can lead to corrosion or functional failure.
Before cleaning, the cable must be completely disconnected from all devices and powered off to prevent any risk to people or equipment.
After use, the cable should be loosely and tension-free wound back onto the drum to prevent kinks or material fatigue.
The cable must never be stored bent, twisted, or under tension, as this can impair conductivity and shielding performance.
Storage must be in a dry, dust-free environment at a consistent room temperature. Direct sunlight, high humidity or extreme temperature fluctuations should be avoided.
The recommended storage temperature is between 0°C and 40°C. Prolonged storage in unheated spaces, vehicles, or sports bags may damage the material.
For extended periods of non-use, the cable should be stored in a suitable protective case or in its original packaging, ideally anti-static and dust-protected.
